Al-Qalam • Ayah 48 of 52 • English

فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُنْ كَصَاحِبِ الْحُوتِ إِذْ نَادَىٰ وَهُوَ مَكْظُومٌ

Translation:

Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muhammad], and be not like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed. Al-Qalam 68:48 ^⧉

Tafsir:

وَلَا تَكُن كَصَاحِبِ الْحُوتِ (So, remain patient with your Lord's judgment, and be not like the Man of the Fish...Al-Qalam 68:48 ^⧉). It refers to Sayyidna Yunus ^{علیہ السلام} . He is named here as 'Man of Fish' because he was devoured by a fish and remained in its belly for some time.
