إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا وَكَانُوا قَوْمًا عَالِينَ 46
Translation:
To Pharaoh and his Chiefs: But these behaved insolently: they were an arrogant people. Al-Mu'minun 23:46
Tafsir:
The tafsir of this ayah is mentioned in Al-Mu'minun 23:47
They observed that the Prophet was not surrounded by heaps of wealth, nor was he seated upon a throne of power. So they considered him to be a lowly person. On account of their being worshippers of externals, they failed to fathom the Prophet’s inner greatness.
