Surah Ghafir — Ayah 37 (Anglo-Saxon English) — Video

Ghafir • Ayah 37 of 85 • Anglo-Saxon English

Translation:
"The ways and means of (reaching) the heavens, and that I may mount up to the god of Moses: But as far as I am concerned, I think (Moses) is a liar!" Thus was made alluring, in Pharaoh's eyes, the evil of his deeds, and he was hindered from the Path; and the plot of Pharaoh led to nothing but perdition (for him). Ghafir 40:37
Tafsir:
What Pharaoh said to his minister, Haman, was not said seriously, but by way of a timely stratagem. He saw that the cogent and reasonable words of the true believer were having an effect on the people. So, he wanted to raise a frivolous point in order that Moses’ call should not become the topic of serious discussion but appear rather as a mere triviality.
