لَا يَنْهَاكُمُ اللَّهُ عَنِ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ وَلَمْ يُخْرِجُوكُمْ مِنْ دِيَارِكُمْ أَنْ تَبَرُّوهُمْ وَتُقْسِطُوا إِلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُقْسِطِينَ 8
Translation:
Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just. Al-Mumtahanah 60:8 ⧉
Tafsir:
The tafsir of this ayah is mentioned in Al-Mumtahanah 60:9 ⧉
As far as justice and fair play are concerned, they will be given to everybody–whether friend or foe. But having friendships with those who are at war with one is not proper.
