Ta-Ha • Ayah 64 of 135 • English

فَأَجْمِعُوا كَيْدَكُمْ ثُمَّ ائْتُوا صَفًّا ۚ وَقَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْيَوْمَ مَنِ اسْتَعْلَىٰ

Translation:

So resolve upon your plan and then come [forward] in line. And he has succeeded today who overcomes." Ta-Ha 20:64 ^⧉

Tafsir:

فَأَجْمِعُوا كَيْدَكُمْ ثُمَّ ائْتُوا صَفًّا (So, make your plot firm and forth in one row - Ta-Ha 20:64 ^⧉). Formation of troops in ranks in battle has an unsettling effect on the enemy, so the Egyptian magicians arranged themselves in ranks for the contest.
