Al-Qasas • Ayah 36 of 88 • English

فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ مُوسَىٰ بِآيَاتِنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ قَالُوا مَا هَٰذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُفْتَرًى وَمَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِي آبَائِنَا الْأَوَّلِينَ

Translation:

But when Moses came to them with Our signs as clear evidences, they said, "This is not except invented magic, and we have not heard of this [religion] among our forefathers." Al-Qasas 28:36 ^⧉

A sermon should have high degree of eloquence

هُوَ أَفْصَحُ مِنِّي لِسَانًا (He is more fluent in his tongue - Al-Qasas 28:34 ^⧉). This verse Al-Qasas 28:34 ^⧉ points out that a high degree of oratory and eloquence is desirable for sermons and preaching, and there is no harm if one takes training in that.
