Surah Al-Ahzab — Ayah 59 (Anglo-Saxon English) — Video

Al-Ahzab • Ayah 59 of 73 • Anglo-Saxon English

Translation:
O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. Al-Ahzab 33:59
Tafsir:
The tafsir of this ayah is mentioned in Al-Ahzab 33:61
When a Muslim woman leaves her house on an errand, she should be so clad as to give the impression that she is a well-bred, respectable, modest woman, and that she has left her home for some serious need and not to make merry or to go in search of entertainment. Simple apparel, a modest gait, the body properly covered, etc.—these are the symbols of that approach.
