فَلَمَّا أَنْجَاهُمْ إِذَا هُمْ يَبْغُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ ۗ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا بَغْيُكُمْ عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِكُمْ ۖ مَتَاعَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَنُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
Falamma anjahum itha hum yabghoona fee alardi bighayri alhaqqi ya ayyuha alnnasu innama baghyukum AAala anfusikum mataAAa alhayati alddunya thumma ilayna marjiAAukum fanunabbiokum bima kuntum taAAmaloona (23)
( فلما أنجاهم إذا هم يبغون في الأرض ) يظلمون ويتجاوزون إلى غير أمر الله عز وجل في الأرض ، ( بغير الحق ) أي : بالفساد . ( يا أيها الناس إنما بغيكم على أنفسكم ) لأن وباله راجع عليها ، ثم ابتدأ فقال : ( متاع الحياة الدنيا ) أي : هذا متاع الحياة الدنيا ، خبر ابتداء مضمر ، كقوله : " لم يلبثوا إلا ساعة من نهار بلاغ " ( الأحقاف - 35 ) ، أي : هذا بلاغ . وقيل : هو كلام متصل ، والبغي : ابتداء ، ومتاع : خبره .
ومعناه : إنما بغيكم متاع الحياة الدنيا ، لا يصلح زادا لمعاد لأنكم تستوجبون به غضب الله .
وقرأ حفص : " متاع " بالنصب ، أي تتمتعون متاع الحياة الدنيا ، ( ثم إلينا مرجعكم فننبئكم بما كنتم تعملون ) .
But when He answers their prayer, and saves them from their distress, they cause corruption in the earth, disbelieving and committing wrongdoing and sins. Wake up and realise O People! The evil consequences of your sins and transgression only falls upon yourselves and does not hurt Allah in any way. They enjoy it in the life of this world which is passing, and then they return to Allah on the day of Judgement, and He will inform them of the wrongdoing they used to do, and repay them for it.
