إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا كَمَاءٍ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فَاخْتَلَطَ بِهِ نَبَاتُ الْأَرْضِ مِمَّا يَأْكُلُ النَّاسُ وَالْأَنْعَامُ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَخَذَتِ الْأَرْضُ زُخْرُفَهَا وَازَّيَّنَتْ وَظَنَّ أَهْلُهَا أَنَّهُمْ قَادِرُونَ عَلَيْهَا أَتَاهَا أَمْرُنَا لَيْلًا أَوْ نَهَارًا فَجَعَلْنَاهَا حَصِيدًا كَأَنْ لَمْ تَغْنَ بِالْأَمْسِ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
Innama mathalu alhayati alddunya kamain anzalnahu mina alssamai faikhtalata bihi nabatu alardi mimma yakulu alnnasu waalanAAamu hatta itha akhathati alardu zukhrufaha waizzayyanat wathanna ahluha annahum qadiroona AAalayha ataha amruna laylan aw naharan fajaAAalnaha haseedan kaan lam taghna bialamsi kathalika nufassilu alayati liqawmin yatafakkaroona (24)
قوله عز وجل : ( إنما مثل الحياة الدنيا ) في فنائها وزوالها ، ( كماء أنزلناه من السماء فاختلط به ) أي : بالمطر ، ( نبات الأرض ) قال ابن عباس : نبت بالماء من كل لون ، ( مما يأكل الناس ) من الحبوب والثمار ، ( والأنعام ) من الحشيش ، ( حتى إذا أخذت الأرض زخرفها ) حسنها وبهجتها ، وظهر الزهر أخضر وأحمر وأصفر وأبيض ( وازينت ) أي : تزينت ، وكذلك هي في قراءة ابن مسعود : " تزينت " . ( وظن أهلها أنهم قادرون عليها ) على جذاذها وقطافها وحصادها ، رد الكناية إلى الأرض . والمراد : النبات إذ كان مفهوما ، وقيل : ردها إلى الغلة . وقيل : إلى الزينة . ( أتاها أمرنا ) قضاؤنا ، بإهلاكها ، ( ليلا أو نهارا فجعلناها حصيدا ) أي : محصودة مقطوعة ، ( كأن لم تغن بالأمس ) كأن لم تكن بالأمس ، وأصله من غني بالمكان إذا أقام به . وقال قتادة : معناه أن المتشبث بالدنيا يأتيه أمر الله وعذابه أغفل ما يكون . ( كذلك نفصل الآيات لقوم يتفكرون ) .
The example of the life of this world, and the enjoyment in it, and how quickly it comes to an end, is that of the rain which is absorbed by the plants of the earth, from which people eat grains and fruits, and animals benefit from its vegetation. When the earth has taken on its bright colour and looks beautiful because of the different plants growing on it, and the people think that they will be able to harvest and gather what has grown, Allah’s command comes to destroy it, so as if it had been harvested and not been full of anything. This is how Allah makes clear the true reality of the wroldly life and how He expounds upon His verses and signs so you may think about them and take a powerful lesson.
