قَالُوا أَجِئْتَنَا لِتَلْفِتَنَا عَمَّا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَنَا وَتَكُونَ لَكُمَا الْكِبْرِيَاءُ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا نَحْنُ لَكُمَا بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
Qaloo ajitana litalfitana AAamma wajadna AAalayhi abaana watakoona lakuma alkibriyao fee alardi wama nahnu lakuma bimumineena (78)
( قالوا ) يعني : فرعون وقومه لموسى ، ( أجئتنا لتلفتنا ) لتصرفنا . وقال قتادة : لتلوينا ، ( عما وجدنا عليه آباءنا وتكون لكما الكبرياء ) الملك والسلطان ، ( في الأرض ) أرض مصر . وقرأ أبو بكر : " ويكون " بالياء ، ( وما نحن لكما بمؤمنين ) بمصدقين .
The people of Pharaoh gave Moses the following response: Have you brought this magic to turn us away from the religion we found our fathers following, so that you and your brother can gain control of us? We are not going to believe you two, O Moses and Aaron.
