وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَأَخِيهِ أَنْ تَبَوَّآ لِقَوْمِكُمَا بِمِصْرَ بُيُوتًا وَاجْعَلُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ قِبْلَةً وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Waawhayna ila moosa waakheehi an tabawwaa liqawmikuma bimisra buyootan waijAAaloo buyootakum qiblatan waaqeemoo alssalata wabashshiri almumineena (87)
قوله تعالى : ( وأوحينا إلى موسى وأخيه ) هارون ، ( أن تبوآ لقومكما بمصر بيوتا ) يقال : تبوأ فلان لنفسه بيتا ومضجعا إذا اتخذه ، وبوأته أنا إذا اتخذته له ، ( واجعلوا بيوتكم قبلة ) قال أكثر المفسرين : كانت بنو إسرائيل لا يصلون إلا في كنائسهم وبيعهم ، وكانت ظاهرة ، فلما أرسل موسى أمر فرعون بتخريبها ومنعهم من الصلاة فأمروا أن يتخذوا مساجد في بيوتهم ويصلوا فيها خوفا من فرعون ، هذا قول إبراهيم وعكرمة عن ابن عباس .
وقال مجاهد : خاف موسى ومن معه من فرعون أن يصلوا في الكنائس الجامعة ، فأمروا بأن يجعلوا في بيوتهم مساجد مستقبلة الكعبة ، يصلون فيها سرا . معناه : واجعلوا بيوتكم إلى القبلة .
وروى ابن جريج عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال : كانت الكعبة قبلة موسى ومن معه .
( وأقيموا الصلاة وبشر المؤمنين ) يا محمد .
I revealed to Moses and his brother, Aaron (peace be upon them), that they should select and make homes for their people to worship Me alone; that they should make their homes face the direction of the qiblah (which was then Jerusalem); and that they should perform the ritual prayer with perfection. I also told Moses to inform the believers of news that will please them: the news of My assistance and support for them; My destruction of their enemy; and My making them successors on earth.
