أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ
Alam yajAAal kaydahum fee tadleelin (2)
( ألم يجعل كيدهم في تضليل ) " كيدهم " يعني مكرهم وسعيهم في تخريب الكعبة . وقوله : " في تضليل " عما أرادوا ، وأضل كيدهم حتى لم يصلوا إلى الكعبة ، وإلى ما أرادوه بكيدهم . قال مقاتل : في خسارة ، وقيل : في بطلان .
Allah made their evil plot to destroy it in vain; they did not achieve what they desired in trying to turn the people away from the Ka‘bah. They did not succeed in the slightest.
