فَإِلَّمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَكُمْ فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا أُنْزِلَ بِعِلْمِ اللَّهِ وَأَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ
Fai llam yastajeeboo lakum faiAAlamoo annama onzila biAAilmi Allahi waan la ilaha illa huwa fahal antum muslimoona (14)
( فإن لم يستجيبوا لكم ) يا أصحاب محمد . وقيل : لفظه جمع والمراد به الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم وحده . ( فاعلموا ) قيل : هذا خطاب مع المؤمنين . وقيل : مع المشركين ، ( أنما أنزل بعلم الله ) يعني : القرآن . وقيل : أنزله وفيه علمه ، ( وأن لا إله إلا هو ) أي : فاعلموا أن لا إله إلا هو ، ( فهل أنتم مسلمون ) لفظه استفهام ومعناه أمر ، أي : أسلموا .
If they do not bring what the Messenger challenges them to – and they are unable to do it! – then the believers should know with certainty that the Qur’ān is revealed from Allah by His knowledge to His Messenger, and that it is not fabricated, and that there is no true god except for Him. Allah asks whether you surrender to Him in devotion after these conclusive proofs?
