مَثَلُ الْجَنَّةِ الَّتِي وُعِدَ الْمُتَّقُونَ ۖ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ۖ أُكُلُهَا دَائِمٌ وَظِلُّهَا ۚ تِلْكَ عُقْبَى الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا ۖ وَعُقْبَى الْكَافِرِينَ النَّارُ
Mathalu aljannati allatee wuAAida almuttaqoona tajree min tahtiha alanharu okuluha daimun wathilluha tilka AAuqba allatheena ittaqaw waAAuqba alkafireena alnnaru (35)
قوله عز وجل : ( مثل الجنة التي وعد المتقون ) أي : صفة الجنة ، كقوله تعالى : ( ولله المثل الأعلى ) ( النحل - 60 ) أي : الصفة العليا ( تجري من تحتها الأنهار ) أي : صفة الجنة التي وعد المتقون أن الأنهار تجري من تحتها .
وقيل : " مثل " صلة مجازها " الجنة التي وعد المتقون تجري من تحتها الأنهار " .
( أكلها دائم ) أي : لا ينقطع ثمرها ونعيمها ( وظلها ) أي : ظلها ظليل ، لا يزول ، وهو رد على الجهمية حيث قالوا إن نعيم الجنة يفنى .
( تلك عقبى ) أي : عاقبة ( الذين اتقوا ) يعني : الجنة ( وعقبى الكافرين النار ) .
The description of Paradise that those mindful of Allah, by fulfilling His instructions and avoiding His prohibitions, have been promised is that rivers flow below its palaces, its fruits are perpetual and do not ever end unlike the fruit of the world, and its shade is everlasting without ever retracting. That is the outcome that awaits those who are mindful of Allah, by fulfilling His instructions and avoiding His prohibitions. The outcome of the disbelievers is the Fire, which they will enter to remain there forever.
