ثُمَّ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ أَنِ اتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا ۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
Thumma awhayna ilayka ani ittabiAA millata ibraheema haneefan wama kana mina almushrikeena (123)
( ثم أوحينا إليك ) يا محمد ، ( أن اتبع ملة إبراهيم حنيفا ) حاجا مسلما ، ( وما كان من المشركين )
وقال أهل الأصول : كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم مأمورا بشريعة إبراهيم إلا ما نسخ في شريعته ، وما لم ينسخ صار شرعا له .
Then we revealed to you - O Messenger - “Follow the creed of Abraham in terms of monotheism, freedom from the idolaters, calling towards Allah and practicing His sacred law, turning away from all other religions to the religion of Islam. He was never an idolater as the idolaters claim but he was a man of pure monotheism.”
