قُلْ لَوْ أَنْتُمْ تَمْلِكُونَ خَزَائِنَ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّي إِذًا لَأَمْسَكْتُمْ خَشْيَةَ الْإِنْفَاقِ ۚ وَكَانَ الْإِنْسَانُ قَتُورًا
Qul law antum tamlikoona khazaina rahmati rabbee ithan laamsaktum khashyata alinfaqi wakana alinsanu qatooran (100)
( قل لو أنتم تملكون خزائن رحمة ربي ) أي : نعمة ربي وقيل : رزق ربي ( إذا لأمسكتم ) لبخلتم وحبستم ( خشية الإنفاق ) أي : خشية الفاقة قاله قتادة .
وقيل : خشية النفاد يقال : أنفق الرجل أي أملق وذهب ماله ونفق الشيء أي : ذهب .
وقيل : لأمسكتم عن الإنفاق خشية الفقر .
( وكان الإنسان قتورا ) أي : بخيلا ممسكا عن الإنفاق .
Say - O Messenger, to these idolaters: If you possessed my Lord’s treasures which never deplete or finish, you would desist from spending them, fearing they will deplete until you will turn poor. And it is human nature to be miserly, except if one is a believer who spends hoping for Allah’s reward.
