18 Al-Kahf(الكهف), Ayah 42

وَأُحِيطَ بِثَمَرِهِ فَأَصْبَحَ يُقَلِّبُ كَفَّيْهِ عَلَىٰ مَا أَنْفَقَ فِيهَا وَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا وَيَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أُشْرِكْ بِرَبِّي أَحَدًا 42 ٤٢

Waoheeta bithamarihi faasbaha yuqallibu kaffayhi AAala ma anfaqa feeha wahiya khawiyatun AAala AAurooshiha wayaqoolu ya laytanee lam oshrik birabbee ahadan (42)

Tafsir

( وأحيط بثمره ) أي : أحاط العذاب بثمر جنته وذلك أن الله تعالى أرسل عليها نارا فأهلكتها وغار ماؤها ( فأصبح ) صاحبها الكافر ( يقلب كفيه ) أي يصفق بيده على الأخرى ويقلب كفيه ظهرا لبطن تأسفا وتلهفا ( على ما أنفق فيها وهي خاوية ) أي ساقطة ( على عروشها ) سقوفها ( ويقول يا ليتني لم أشرك بربي أحدا )

What the believer anticipated occurred. Destruction engulfed the fruit of the disbeliever’s garden and the disbeliever began wringing his hands on account of extreme regret and remorse over the money that he had spent on its maintenance and upkeep, whilst the garden had fallen over the supports on which the grapevines are spread out and he was saying: I wish I had believed in my Lord alone, and I had not associated anyone with Him in worship.
