حَتَّىٰ إِذَا بَلَغَ مَطْلِعَ الشَّمْسِ وَجَدَهَا تَطْلُعُ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ لَمْ نَجْعَلْ لَهُمْ مِنْ دُونِهَا سِتْرًا
Hatta itha balagha matliAAa alshshamsi wajadaha tatluAAu AAala qawmin lam najAAal lahum min dooniha sitran (90)
( حتى إذا بلغ مطلع الشمس ) أي موضع طلوعها ( وجدها تطلع على قوم لم نجعل لهم من دونها سترا ) قال قتادة والحسن : لم يكن بينهم وبين الشمس ستر ، وذلك أنهم كانوا في مكان لا يستقر عليه بناء فكانوا يكونون في أسراب لهم حتى إذا زالت الشمس عنهم خرجوا إلى معايشهم وحروثهم .
وقال الحسن : كانوا إذا طلعت الشمس يدخلون الماء فإذا ارتفعت عنهم خرجوا يتراعون كالبهائم .
وقال الكلبي : هم قوم عراة يفترش أحدهم إحدى أذنيه ، ويلتحف بالأخرى .
And he travelled until when he reached the place where the sun rises, he found it rising on a people I had not given any houses or the shade of trees to protect them from the sun.
