وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِنْ قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَاثًا وَرِئْيًا
Wakam ahlakna qablahum min qarnin hum ahsanu athathan wariyan (74)
( وكم أهلكنا قبلهم من قرن هم أحسن أثاثا ) أي متاعا وأموالا . وقال مقاتل : لباسا وثيابا ( ورئيا ) قرأ أكثر القراء بالهمز أي : منظرا من " الرؤية " وقرأ ابن عامر وأبو جعفر ونافع غير ورش : " وريا " مشددا بغير همز وله تفسيران : أحدهما هو الأول بطرح الهمز والثاني : من الري الذي هو ضد العطش ومعناه : الارتواء من النعمة فإن المتنعم يظهر فيه ارتواء النعمة ، والفقير يظهر عليه ذيول الفقر .
