فَأَخْرَجَ لَهُمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَهُ خُوَارٌ فَقَالُوا هَٰذَا إِلَٰهُكُمْ وَإِلَٰهُ مُوسَىٰ فَنَسِيَ
Faakhraja lahum AAijlan jasadan lahu khuwarun faqaloo hatha ilahukum wailahu moosa fanasiya (88)
( فأخرج لهم عجلا جسدا له خوار فقالوا هذا إلهكم وإله موسى فنسي ) أي : تركه موسى هاهنا ، وذهب يطلبه . وقيل : أخطأ الطريق وضل .
So Samiri took out from this jewellery of the Israelites a lifeless body of a calf, which made a noise like that of a cow. Those amongst them who had been tempted by Samiri’s action said: “This is your god and the god of Moses which he forgot and left here”.
