فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ بِالْحَقِّ فَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ غُثَاءً ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِلْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
Faakhathathumu alssayhatu bialhaqqi fajaAAalnahum ghuthaan fabuAAdan lilqawmi alththalimeena (41)
( فأخذتهم الصيحة ) يعني صيحة العذاب ، ( بالحق ) قيل : أراد بالصيحة الهلاك . وقيل : صاح بهم جبريل صيحة فتصدعت قلوبهم ، ( فجعلناهم غثاء ) وهو ما يحمله السيل من حشيش وعيدان شجر ، معناه : صيرناهم هلكى فيبسوا يبس الغثاء من نبات الأرض ، ( فبعدا للقوم الظالمين )
So a severe scream, accompanied by a severe wind, took them by surprise, due to their deserving the punishment owing to their stubbornness. I destroyed them, leaving them like the froth of the flood. Woe be to the transgressing nation!
