قَالُوا نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَاكِفِينَ
Qaloo naAAbudu asnaman fanathallu laha AAakifeena (71)
( قالوا نعبد أصناما فنظل لها عاكفين ) أي : نقيم على عبادتها . قال بعض أهل العلم : إنما قال : ) ( فنظل ) لأنهم كانوا يعبدونها بالنهار ، دون الليل ، يقال : ظل يفعل كذا إذا فعل بالنهار . )
