فَلَمَّا أَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَبْطِشَ بِالَّذِي هُوَ عَدُوٌّ لَهُمَا قَالَ يَا مُوسَىٰ أَتُرِيدُ أَنْ تَقْتُلَنِي كَمَا قَتَلْتَ نَفْسًا بِالْأَمْسِ ۖ إِنْ تُرِيدُ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ جَبَّارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُصْلِحِينَ
Falamma an arada an yabtisha biallathee huwa AAaduwwun lahuma qala ya moosa atureedu an taqtulanee kama qatalta nafsan bialamsi in tureedu illa an takoona jabbaran fee alardi wama tureedu an takoona mina almusliheena (19)
( فلما أن أراد أن يبطش بالذي هو عدو لهما ) وذلك أن موسى أدركته الرقة بالإسرائيلي فمد يده ليبطش بالفرعوني ، فظن الإسرائيلي أنه يريد أن يبطش به لما رأى من غضبه وسمع قوله : إنك لغوي مبين ، ( قال يا موسى أتريد أن تقتلني كما قتلت نفسا بالأمس إن تريد ) ما تريد ، ( إلا أن تكون جبارا في الأرض ) بالقتل ظلما ، ( وما تريد أن تكون من المصلحين ) فلما سمع القبطي ما قال الإسرائيلي علم أن موسى هو الذي قتل ذلك الفرعوني ، فانطلق إلى فرعون وأخبره بذلك ، وأمر فرعون بقتل موسى . قال ابن عباس : فلما أرسل فرعون الذباحين لقتل موسى أخذوا الطريق الأعظم .
So when Moses (peace be upon him) intended to strike the Copt who was his and the caller’s enemy, the Copt said: “Do you intend to kill me just like you killed another yesterday? You only wish to become a tyrant on Earth by killing people and oppressing them; you have no desire to be one of those who reconcile between those who dispute!”
