قَالَ الَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ رَبَّنَا هَٰؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ أَغْوَيْنَا أَغْوَيْنَاهُمْ كَمَا غَوَيْنَا ۖ تَبَرَّأْنَا إِلَيْكَ ۖ مَا كَانُوا إِيَّانَا يَعْبُدُونَ
Qala allatheena haqqa AAalayhimu alqawlu rabbana haolai allatheena aghwayna aghwaynahum kama ghawayna tabarrana ilayka ma kanoo iyyana yaAAbudoona (63)
( قال الذين حق عليهم القول ) وجب عليهم العذاب وهم رءوس الضلالة ، ( ربنا هؤلاء الذين أغوينا ) أي : دعوناهم إلى الغي ، وهم الأتباع ، ( أغويناهم كما غوينا ) أضللناهم كما ضللنا ، ( تبرأنا إليك ) منهم ( ما كانوا إيانا يعبدون ) برئ بعضهم من بعض وصاروا أعداء ، كما قال تعالى : " الأخلاء يومئذ بعضهم لبعض عدو " ( الزخرف - 67 ) .
The callers towards disbelief for whom the punishment will become binding will say: “Our Lord, these are the ones I misguided just as I became misguided. I disassociate ourselves from them to You. They never used to worship us, but they only used to worship the satans”.
