فَعَمِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْأَنْبَاءُ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَهُمْ لَا يَتَسَاءَلُونَ
FaAAamiyat AAalayhimu alanbao yawmaithin fahum la yatasaaloona (66)
( فعميت ) خفيت واشتبهت ( عليهم الأنباء ) أي : الأخبار والأعذار ، وقال مجاهد : الحجج ، ( يومئذ ) فلا يكون لهم عذر ولا حجة ، ( فهم لا يتساءلون ) لا يجيبون ، وقال قتادة : لا يحتجون ، وقيل : يسكتون لا يسأل بعضهم بعضا .
So that which they can argue with will become hidden to them and they will not mention anything. They will not ask one another, due to the frightening shock they will be in, because they will know for sure they are heading towards the punishment.
