قُلْ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَعْصِمُكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ إِنْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ سُوءًا أَوْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ رَحْمَةً ۚ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ لَهُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلِيًّا وَلَا نَصِيرًا
Qul man tha allathee yaAAsimukum mina Allahi in arada bikum sooan aw arada bikum rahmatan wala yajidoona lahum min dooni Allahi waliyyan wala naseeran (17)
( قل من ذا الذي يعصمكم من الله ) أي : يمنعكم من عذابه ( إن أراد بكم سوءا ) هزيمة ( أو أراد بكم رحمة ) نصرة ( ولا يجدون لهم من دون الله وليا ) أي : قريبا ينفعهم ) ( ولا نصيرا ) أي : ناصرا يمنعهم .
O Messenger, say to them: “Who can save you from Allah if He intends for you the death or being killed you dislike, or He intends for you the safety and good you hope for? There is nobody to save you from that”. And these hypocrites will not find for themselves any associate besides Allah to take care of their affairs, nor any helper to save them from Allah punishing them.
