وَكَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ وَمَا بَلَغُوا مِعْشَارَ مَا آتَيْنَاهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوا رُسُلِي ۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ
Wakaththaba allatheena min qablihim wama balaghoo miAAshara ma ataynahum fakaththaboo rusulee fakayfa kana nakeeri (45)
( وكذب الذين من قبلهم ) من الأمم رسلنا ، وهم : عاد ، وثمود ، وقوم إبراهيم ، وقوم لوط وغيرهم ( وما بلغوا ) يعني : هؤلاء المشركين ) ( معشار ) أي : عشر ) ( ما آتيناهم ) أي : أعطينا الأمم الخالية من القوة والنعمة وطول العمر ( فكذبوا رسلي فكيف كان نكير ) أي : إنكاري وتغييري عليهم ، يحذر كفار هذه الأمة عذاب الأمم الماضية .
And the previous nations such as Aad, Thamud and the people of Lot denied. And the idolaters from your people have not reached even a tenth of the strength, might and numbers the previous nations reached. Every one of them denied their Messenger, so the wealth, strength and numbers they were given did not benefit, and so My punishment befell them. So see the outcome of My reproachment and that of My punishment.
