إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُمْسِكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ أَنْ تَزُولَا ۚ وَلَئِنْ زَالَتَا إِنْ أَمْسَكَهُمَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ حَلِيمًا غَفُورًا
Inna Allaha yumsiku alssamawati waalarda an tazoola walain zalata in amsakahuma min ahadin min baAAdihi innahu kana haleeman ghafooran (41)
قوله تعالى : ( إن الله يمسك السماوات والأرض أن تزولا ) أي : كيلا تزولا ( ولئن زالتا إن أمسكهما من أحد من بعده ) أي : ما يمسكهما أحد من بعده ، أي : أحد سواه ( إنه كان حليما غفورا ) فإن قيل : فما معنى ذكر الحلم هاهنا ؟ قيل : لأن السماوات والأرض همت بما همت به من عقوبة الكفار فأمسكهما الله تعالى عن الزوال بحلمه وغفرانه أن يعاجلهم بالعقوبة .
Allah, (may He be glorified), holds the heavens and the earth preventing them from vanishing and were they to vanish, hypothetically, there is none to hold them back from vanishing after Him, (may He be glorified). He is Forbearing, and does not rush to punish, Forgiving of the sins of those of His servants who repent.
