أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُزُلًا أَمْ شَجَرَةُ الزَّقُّومِ
Athalika khayrun nuzulan am shajaratu alzzaqqoomi (62)
( أذلك ) أي : ذلك الذي ذكر لأهل الجنة ، ( خير نزلا أم شجرة الزقوم ) التي هي نزل أهل النار ، والزقوم : ثمرة شجرة خبيثة مرة كريهة الطعم ، يكره أهل النار على تناولها ، فهم يتزقمونه على أشد كراهية ، ومنه قولهم : تزقم الطعام إذا تناوله على كره ومشقة .
Is that aforementioned bounty which Allah has prepared for His servants whom He chose to obey Him, better and more virtuous in rank and honour, than the tree of Zaqqūm which has been cursed in the Qur’ān? It is the food of the disbelievers, which neither nourishes nor satisfies hunger.
