أَمْ لَهُمْ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ فَلْيَرْتَقُوا فِي الْأَسْبَابِ
Am lahum mulku alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma falyartaqoo fee alasbabi (10)
( أم لهم ملك السماوات والأرض وما بينهما ) أي : ليس لهم ذلك ، ( فليرتقوا في الأسباب ) أي : إن ادعوا شيئا من ذلك فليصعدوا في الأسباب التي توصلهم إلى السماء ، وليأتوا منها بالوحي إلى من يختارون . قال مجاهد وقتادة : أراد بالأسباب : أبواب السماء وطرقها من سماء إلى سماء ، وكل ما يوصلك إلى شيء من باب أو طريق فهو سببه ، وهذا أمر توبيخ وتعجيز .
Or do they have the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and possession of everything therein so they may chose who to give it to? If this is what claim they are making then let them adopt the means to go up to the heavens so they can then rule how they wish from above the heavens in who should be given and who should be held back from.
