فَاعْبُدُوا مَا شِئْتُمْ مِنْ دُونِهِ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ الْخَاسِرِينَ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَأَهْلِيهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۗ أَلَا ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْخُسْرَانُ الْمُبِينُ
FaoAAbudoo ma shitum min doonihi qul inna alkhasireena allatheena khasiroo anfusahum waahleehim yawma alqiyamati ala thalika huwa alkhusranu almubeenu (15)
( فاعبدوا ما شئتم من دونه ) أمر توبيخ وتهديد ، كقوله : " اعملوا ما شئتم " ( فصلت - 40 ) . ( قل إن الخاسرين الذين خسروا أنفسهم وأهليهم ) أزواجهم وخدمهم ، ( يوم القيامة ) قال ابن عباس : وذلك أن الله جعل لكل إنسان منزلا في الجنة وأهلا فمن عمل بطاعة الله كان ذلك المنزل والأهل له ، ومن عمل بمعصية الله دخل النار ، وكان ذلك المنزل والأهل لغيره ممن عمل بطاعة الله . وقيل : خسران النفس بدخول النار ، وخسران الأهل بأن يفرق بينه وبين أهله ، ( ألا ذلك هو الخسران المبين ) .
So you, O idolaters, worship whatever idols you wish besides Him (this instruction is a threat). Say, O Messenger:.the true losers are those who will lose themselves and their family members, whom they will not meet in the Hereafter due to them being separated in Paradise and the fire together with them. Thus they will never meet. That is indeed, and undoubtedly the obvious loss.
