الَّذِينَ يَتَّخِذُونَ الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِنْ دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۚ أَيَبْتَغُونَ عِنْدَهُمُ الْعِزَّةَ فَإِنَّ الْعِزَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعًا
Allatheena yattakhithoona alkafireena awliyaa min dooni almumineena ayabtaghoona AAindahumu alAAizzata fainna alAAizzata lillahi jameeAAan (139)
( الذين يتخذون الكافرين أولياء ) يعني : يتخذون اليهود أولياء وأنصارا أو بطانة ( من دون المؤمنين أيبتغون عندهم العزة ) أي : المعونة والظهور على محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم وأصحابه : وقيل : أيطلبون عندهم القوة والغلبة ، ( فإن العزة ) أي : الغلبة والقوة والقدرة ، ( لله جميعا ) .
This punishment is because they took the disbelievers as their helpers and supporters instead of the believers. How strange that they took them as allies!. Do they search for assistance and protection with them? All assistance and protection belongs only to Allah and comes only from Him.
