فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي أَيَّامٍ نَحِسَاتٍ لِنُذِيقَهُمْ عَذَابَ الْخِزْيِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَخْزَىٰ ۖ وَهُمْ لَا يُنْصَرُونَ
Faarsalna AAalayhim reehan sarsaran fee ayyamin nahisatin linutheeqahum AAathaba alkhizyi fee alhayati alddunya walaAAathabu alakhirati akhza wahum la yunsaroona (16)
( فأرسلنا عليهم ريحا صرصرا ) عاصفة شديدة الصوت ، من الصرة وهي الصيحة . وقيل : هي الباردة من الصر وهو البرد . ( في أيام نحسات ) قرأ ابن كثير ونافع وأبو عمرو ويعقوب " نحسات " بسكون الحاء ، وقرأ الآخرون بكسرها أي : نكدات مشئومات ذات نحوس . وقال الضحاك : أمسك الله عنهم المطر ثلاث سنين ، ودامت الرياح عليهم من غير مطر ، ( لنذيقهم عذاب الخزي ) أي : عذاب الهون والذل ، ( في الحياة الدنيا ولعذاب الآخرة أخزى ) أشد إهانة ( وهم لا ينصرون ) .
So I sent upon them a wind that had with it a disturbing noise, on days of misfortune for them, due to the punishment which came to them. So that I may make them suffer a punishment of humiliation and disgrace in the world. And indeed, the punishment of the Hereafter that awaits them is more humiliating for them; they will not find anyone to help save them from the punishment.
