وَقَيَّضْنَا لَهُمْ قُرَنَاءَ فَزَيَّنُوا لَهُمْ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَحَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ فِي أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا خَاسِرِينَ
Waqayyadna lahum quranaa fazayyanoo lahum ma bayna aydeehim wama khalfahum wahaqqa AAalayhimu alqawlu fee omamin qad khalat min qablihim mina aljinni waalinsi innahum kanoo khasireena (25)
( وقيضنا لهم ) أي : بعثنا ووكلنا . وقال مقاتل : هيأنا . وقال الزجاج : سببنا لهم . ( قرناء ) نظراء من الشياطين حتى أضلوهم ، ( فزينوا لهم ما بين أيديهم ) من أمر الدنيا حتى آثروه على الآخرة ، ( وما خلفهم ) من أمر الآخرة فدعوهم إلى التكذيب به وإنكار البعث ، ( وحق عليهم القول في أمم ) [ مع أمم . ( قد خلت من قبلهم من الجن والإنس إنهم كانوا خاسرين ) .
I sent upon these disbelievers, companions from the satans. who would constantly be around them and beautifying disbelief, sins and rejection of the resurrection and requital. the punishment became incumbent upon them as the nations before from the humans and Jinn. Indeed they were the losers, who will lose themselves and their families on the Day of Judgement when they enter the fire.
