وَكَأَيِّنْ مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ هِيَ أَشَدُّ قُوَّةً مِنْ قَرْيَتِكَ الَّتِي أَخْرَجَتْكَ أَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ فَلَا نَاصِرَ لَهُمْ
Wakaayyin min qaryatin hiya ashaddu quwwatan min qaryatika allatee akhrajatka ahlaknahum fala nasira lahum (13)
( وكأين من قرية هي أشد قوة من قريتك التي أخرجتك ) أي أخرجك أهلها ، قال ابن عباس : كم رجال هم أشد من أهل مكة ؟ يدل عليه قوله : ( أهلكناهم ) ولم يقل : أهلكناها ( فلا ناصر لهم ) قال ابن عباس : لما خرج رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - من مكة إلى الغار التفت إلى مكة وقال : " أنت أحب بلاد الله إلى الله وأحب بلاد الله إلي ولو أن المشركين لم يخرجوني لم أخرج منك " فأنزل الله هذه الآية .
How many a town from the towns of the previous nations had more strength, wealth and children than that of Makkah, whose people evicted you from it! I destroyed them when they denied their messengers, and they had no helper to rescue them from Allah’s punishment when it came to them. Thus we are not unable to destroy the people of Makkah if I intend to do so.
