إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْتَابُوا وَجَاهَدُوا بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الصَّادِقُونَ
Innama almuminoona allatheena amanoo biAllahi warasoolihi thumma lam yartaboo wajahadoo biamwalihim waanfusihim fee sabeeli Allahi olaika humu alssadiqoona (15)
ثم بين حقيقة الإيمان ، فقال : ( إنما المؤمنون الذين آمنوا بالله ورسوله ثم لم يرتابوا ) لم يشكوا في دينهم ( وجاهدوا بأموالهم وأنفسهم في سبيل الله أولئك هم الصادقون ) في إيمانهم .
فلما نزلت هاتان الآيتان أتت الأعراب رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - يحلفون بالله إنهم مؤمنون صادقون ، وعرف الله غير ذلك منهم ، فأنزل الله - عز وجل - :
The believers are only those who have faith in Allah and His Messenger, and then do not pollute their faith with doubts and strive in the way of Allah with their wealth and souls, not holding back on anything. Those are the ones truthful in their faith.
