وَاذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَمِيثَاقَهُ الَّذِي وَاثَقَكُمْ بِهِ إِذْ قُلْتُمْ سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ
Waothkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum wameethaqahu allathee wathaqakum bihi ith qultum samiAAna waataAAna waittaqoo Allaha inna Allaha AAaleemun bithati alssudoori (7)
قوله تعالى : ( واذكروا نعمة الله عليكم ) يعني النعم كلها ، ( وميثاقه الذي واثقكم به ) عهده الذي عاهدكم به أيها المؤمنون ، ( إذ قلتم سمعنا وأطعنا ) وذلك حين بايعوا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على السمع والطاعة فيما أحبوا وكرهوا ، وهو قول أكثر المفسرين ، وقال مجاهد ومقاتل : يعني الميثاق الذي أخذ عليهم حين أخرجهم من صلب آدم عليه السلام ، ( واتقوا الله إن الله عليم بذات الصدور ) بما في القلوب من خير وشر .
Remember Allah’s favour upon you by guiding you to Islam and the promise He took from you when you said at the time of pledging allegiance to the Prophet (peace be upon him) to listen and follow in ease or difficulty: ‘We hear your words and we follow your instruction’. Be mindful of Allah by fulfilling His instructions, including His promises, and avoiding His prohibitions. Allah knows what is in the hearts and nothing is hidden from Him.
