وَجَاءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَعَهَا سَائِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ
Wajaat kullu nafsin maAAaha saiqun washaheedun (21)
( وجاءت ) ذلك اليوم ( كل نفس معها سائق ) يسوقها إلى المحشر ( وشهيد ) يشهد عليها بما عملت ، قال الضحاك : السائق من الملائكة ، والشاهد من أنفسهم الأيدي والأرجل ، وهي رواية العوفي عن ابن عباس . وقال الآخرون : هما جميعا من الملائكة ، فيقول الله :
And every soul will come, with it a driver and a witness. Each soul will come with an angel driving it, and an angel testifying against it for its deeds.
