ذَٰلِكَ مَبْلَغُهُمْ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ ضَلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ اهْتَدَىٰ
Thalika mablaghuhum mina alAAilmi inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu biman dalla AAan sabeelihi wahuwa aAAlamu bimani ihtada (30)
ثم صغر رأيهم فقال : ( ذلك مبلغهم من العلم ) أي : ذلك نهاية علمهم وقدر عقولهم أن آثروا الدنيا على الآخرة .
وقيل : لم يبلغوا من العلم إلا ظنهم أن الملائكة بنات الله ، وأنها تشفع لهم ، فاعتمدوا على ذلك وأعرضوا عن القرآن .
( إن ربك هو أعلم بمن ضل عن سبيله وهو أعلم بمن اهتدى ) أي : هو عالم بالفريقين فيجازيهم .
That which the idolaters say - about giving the angels female names - is the limit of their knowledge because they are ignorant. They have not reached certainty. Your Lord - O Messenger- knows best about those who deviate from the path of truth and He knows best about those who are guided to its path. Nothing of that is hidden from Him.
