فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ ۘ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَيْءٍ نُكُرٍ
Fatawalla AAanhum yawma yadAAu alddaAAi ila shayin nukurin (6)
( فتول عنهم ) أعرض عنهم نسختها آية القتال . قيل : هاهنا وقف تام . وقيل : ( فتول عنهم يوم يدع الداع ) أي : إلى يوم الداعي ، قال مقاتل : هو إسرافيل ينفخ قائما على صخرة بيت المقدس ( إلى شيء نكر ) [ منكر ] فظيع لم يروا مثله فينكرونه استعظاما ، قرأ ابن كثير : " نكر " بسكون الكاف ، والآخرون بضمها .
Since they do not follow the right path, leave them, O Messenger, and turn away from them waiting for the day when the angel appointed to blow the trumpet will call towards a horrific matter, the like of which was not known by created beings previously.
