أَأَشْفَقْتُمْ أَنْ تُقَدِّمُوا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ نَجْوَاكُمْ صَدَقَاتٍ ۚ فَإِذْ لَمْ تَفْعَلُوا وَتَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
Aashfaqtum an tuqaddimoo bayna yaday najwakum sadaqatin faith lam tafAAaloo wataba Allahu AAalaykum faaqeemoo alssalata waatoo alzzakata waateeAAoo Allaha warasoolahu waAllahu khabeerun bima taAAmaloona (13)
( أأشفقتم أن تقدموا ) قال ابن عباس : أبخلتم ؟ والمعنى : أخفتم العيلة والفاقة إن قدمتم ( بين يدي نجواكم صدقات فإذ لم تفعلوا ) ما أمرتم به ( وتاب الله عليكم ) تجاوز عنكم ولم يعاقبكم بترك الصدقة ، وقيل " الواو " صلة مجازه : فإن لم تفعلوا تاب الله عليكم ونسخ الصدقة [ قال مقاتل بن حيان : كان ذلك عشر ليال ثم نسخ ] وقال الكلبي : ما كانت إلا ساعة من نهار .
( فأقيموا الصلاة ) المفروضة ( وآتوا الزكاة ) الواجبة ( وأطيعوا الله ورسوله والله خبير بما تعملون )
Do you fear poverty by presenting charity before talking privately with the Messenger? So when you do not do that which Allah commanded you to do, and Allah forgave you by allowing you not to give in charity, now perform prayer to perfection, give Zakat on your wealth, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah is aware of your actions; nothing is hidden from Him and He will soon requite you for them.
