قُلْ يَا قَوْمِ اعْمَلُوا عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنِّي عَامِلٌ ۖ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ تَكُونُ لَهُ عَاقِبَةُ الدَّارِ ۗ إِنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الظَّالِمُونَ
Qul ya qawmi iAAmaloo AAala makanatikum innee AAamilun fasawfa taAAlamoona man takoonu lahu AAaqibatu alddari innahu la yuflihu alththalimoona (135)
( قل ) يا محمد ( يا قوم اعملوا على مكانتكم ) قرأ أبو بكر عن عاصم ( مكاناتكم ) بالجمع حيث كان أي : على تمكنكم ، قال عطاء : على حالاتكم التي أنتم عليها . قال الزجاج : اعملوا على ما أنتم عليه . يقال للرجل إذا أمر أن يثبت على حالة : على مكانتك يا فلان ، أي : اثبت على ما أنت عليه ، وهذا أمر وعيد على المبالغة يقول : قل لهم : اعملوا على ما أنتم عاملون ، ( إني عامل ) ما أمرني به ربي - عز وجل - ، ( فسوف تعلمون من تكون له عاقبة الدار ) أي : الجنة ، قرأ حمزة والكسائي : يكون بالياء هنا وفي القصص ، وقرأ الآخرون بالتاء لتأنيث العاقبة ، ( إنه لا يفلح الظالمون ) قال ابن عباس : معناه لا يسعد من كفر بي وأشرك . قال الضحاك : لا يفوز .
Say, O Messenger: O my people, remain on your path of disbelief and misguidance if you choose, as I have fulfilled my obligation having established the evidence against you by communicating the message to you. I am therefore not concerned about your disbelief and misguidance. Instead, I will remain firm on the path of truth that I follow. Soon you will come to know who will be victorious in the world and inherit the earth, and who will receive the home of the Afterlife. The idolaters will not succeed, neither in this world nor the Afterlife. Their end result will be loss even though they may have some enjoyment in the world.
