قَالُوا سُبْحَانَ رَبِّنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ

Qaloo subhana rabbina inna kunna thalimeena ⁽²⁹⁾

Tafsir

( قالوا سبحان ربنا ) نزهوه عن أن يكون ظالما فيما فعل وأقروا على أنفسهم بالظلم فقالوا : ( إنا كنا ظالمين ) بمنعنا المساكين .

They said, “Glory be to our Lord; indeed, we wronged ourselves when we decided to prevent the poor from the crops of our garden.”
