لَوْلَا أَنْ تَدَارَكَهُ نِعْمَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِ لَنُبِذَ بِالْعَرَاءِ وَهُوَ مَذْمُومٌ

Lawla an tadarakahu niAAmatun min rabbihi lanubitha bialAAarai wahuwa mathmoomun ⁽⁴⁹⁾

Tafsir

( لولا أن تداركه ) أدركته ( نعمة من ربه ) حين رحمه وتاب عليه ( لنبذ بالعراء ) لطرح بالفضاء من بطن الحوت ( وهو مذموم ) يذم ويلام بالذنب [ يذنبه ] .

Had it not been for the mercy of Allah reaching him, the whale would have thrown him on a barren land, rebuked.
