7 Al-A'raf(الأعراف), Ayah 192

وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ لَهُمْ نَصْرًا وَلَا أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَنْصُرُونَ

Wala yastateeAAoona lahum nasran wala anfusahum yansuroona ⁽¹⁹²⁾

Tafsir

( ولا يستطيعون لهم نصرا ) أي : الأصنام لا تنصر من أطاعها ، ( ولا أنفسهم ينصرون ( قال الحسن : لا يدفعون عن أنفسهم مكروه من أراد بهم بكسر أو نحوه ثم خاطب المؤمنين فقال :

These things that are worshipped instead of Allah cannot help those who worship them, and cannot even help themselves, so worshipping them is clearly foolish and ignorant.
