7 Al-A'raf(الأعراف), Ayah 83

فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ 83 ٨٣

Faanjaynahu waahlahu illa imraatahu kanat mina alghabireena (83)

Tafsir

( فأنجيناه ) يعني : لوطا ، ( وأهله ) المؤمنين ، وقيل : أهله : ابنتاه ، ( إلا امرأته كانت من الغابرين ) يعني : الباقين في العذاب ، وقيل : معناه كانت من الباقين المعمرين ، قد أتى عليها دهر طويل فهلكت مع من هلك من قوم لوط ، وإنما قال : " من الغابرين " لأنه أراد : ممن بقي من الرجال فلما ضم ذكرها إلى ذكر الرجال قال : " من الغابرين " .

So Allah saved Lot and his family by instructing them to leave the city by night. His family were saved except for his wife, who remained behind in the city and suffered the same punishment as the rest.
