يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا لَقِيتُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا زَحْفًا فَلَا تُوَلُّوهُمُ الْأَدْبَارَ
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha laqeetumu allatheena kafaroo zahfan fala tuwalloohumu aladbara (15)
قوله - عز وجل - : ( يا أيها الذين آمنوا إذا لقيتم الذين كفروا زحفا ) أي مجتمعين متزاحمين بعضكم إلى بعض ، والتزاحف : التداني في القتال : والزحف مصدر; لذلك لم يجمع ، كقولهم : قوم عدل ورضا . قال : الليث : الزحف جماعة يزحفون إلى عدو لهم بمرة ، فهم الزحف والجمع : الزحوف . ( فلا تولوهم الأدبار ) يقول : فلا تولوهم ظهوركم ، أي تنهزموا فإن المنهزم يولي دبره .
O you who believe in Allah and who follow His Messenger, if you meet the idolaters approaching them in battle, then do not turn your backs to them and run away; but be patient when facing them, and firm when you meet, because Allah is with you with His help and support.
