"وحدائق غلباً"، غلاظ الأشجار، واحدها أغلب، ومنه قيل لغليظ الرقبة: أغلب. وقال مجاهد ومقاتل: الغلب: الملتفة الشجر بعضه في بعض، قال ابن عباس: طوالاً.
