يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَا لَكُمْ إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمُ انْفِرُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ اثَّاقَلْتُمْ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ ۚ أَرَضِيتُمْ بِالْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ ۚ فَمَا مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ma lakum itha qeela lakumu infiroo fee sabeeli Allahi iththaqaltum ila alardi aradeetum bialhayati alddunya mina alakhirati fama mataAAu alhayati alddunya fee alakhirati illa qaleelun (38)
قوله عز وجل : ( يا أيها الذين آمنوا ما لكم إذا قيل لكم انفروا في سبيل الله اثاقلتم إلى الأرض ) الآية ، نزلت في الحث على غزوة تبوك ، وذلك أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لما رجع من الطائف أمر بالجهاد لغزوة الروم ، وكان ذلك في زمان عسرة من الناس ، وشدة من الحر ، حين طابت الثمار والظلال ، ولم يكن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يريد غزوة إلا ورى بغيرها حتى كانت تلك الغزوة ، غزاها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في حر شديد ، واستقبل سفرا بعيدا ، ومفاوز هائلة ، وعدوا كثيرا ، فجلى للمسلمين أمرهم ليتأهبوا أهبة عدوهم ، فشق عليهم الخروج وتثاقلوا فأنزل الله تعالى : ( ( يا أيها الذين آمنوا ما لكم إذا قيل لكم ) أي : قال لكم رسول الله : ( انفروا ) اخرجوا في سبيل الله ( اثاقلتم إلى الأرض ) أي : لزمتم أرضكم ومساكنكم ، ( أرضيتم بالحياة الدنيا من الآخرة ) أي : بخفض الدنيا ودعتها من نعيم الآخرة . ( فما متاع الحياة الدنيا في الآخرة إلا قليل ) .
O you who have faith in Allah and His Messenger, and follow His sacred law, what is wrong with you that when you are called to strive for Allah’s sake, fighting against your enemy, tyou become reluctant, desiring to remain in your houses. Do you prefer the passing life of this world and its pleasures, which are short-lived, to the eternal bliss of the Afterlife, which Allah has prepared for those who strive for His sake? The enjoyment of the life of this world is insignificant in comparison to that of the Afterlife. How can anyone with sense choose something passing over something eternal, or something miserable over something amazing?
