وَاتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً لَعَلَّهُمْ يُنْصَرُونَ 74
Transliteration:
Waittakhathoo min dooni Allahi alihatan laAAallahum yunsaroona Ya-Sin 36:74 ⧉
Tafsir:

( واتخذوا من دون الله آلهة لعلهم ينصرون ) يعني : لتمنعهم من عذاب الله ، ولا يكون ذلك قط .

The idolaters have taken other deities instead of Allah whom they worship, hoping that they will help them and save them from the punishment of Allah.
